
After the Amalfi domination, Cetara was under the control of Erchie Abbey, and later of the Cava Abbey, that used the Cetara harbour for their trade in the Mediterranean. A tragic event, happened, during the XVI century, when Turkish pirates pillaged and destroyed Cetara.

They used a Roman traditional recipe, modified in the time, called "GARUM", delicious with pasta.
